Foreign Language Documents
If the academic institution or licensing authority will not submit the documents in English, or if the documents arrive in a foreign language:
- FCCPT will electronically send them to the applicant using the e-mail address on file.
- It is then the applicant’s responsibility to send the document to a certified translator to have the document translated.
- The translated copies must be sent directly to FCCPT by the certified translator along with the original language copy and a notarized statement as to translator’s certification.
- The documents need not be translated in the United States, but they must be done by a certified translator.
One place to find a certified translator is at this web site: www.atanet.org.
Please note that if the applicant has the document translated prior to having the document sent by the appropriate academic institution or licensing authority the document will not be accepted as official.
