Frequently Asked Questions

Home-> Returning Applicants -> FAQs

If FCCPT determines that my education is not substantially equivalent to current U.S. standards, does this mean that I will not be given a license even if I am already licensed in another jurisdiction?
The decision to grant a license is at the discretion of the jurisdiction. FCCPT's educational credentials review is only an advisory report. The report indicates the deficiencies in the educational comparison. You may choose to supplement the educational documents based upon the review, and apply for a re-evaluation.

The FCCPT accepts the CLEP English Composition Modular, however, we will only award 3 credits for the multiple choice part of the exam. An applicant cannot submit both English Composition Modular and College Composition CLEP for credit.

How can I change information in my file?
Applicants may change the following personal information by logging into their online file and selecting "Edit Profile".

  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • E-Mail Address
  • Fed Ex account number

All other changes must be entered manually by staff. To change any other personal information in an online file include this information in a written request sent by fax (FCCPT’s fax number is 703-684-8715). The request should include:

  • Applicant’s full name
  • File number
  • The requested change
  • Signature

If an applicant has married and wants to change the last name on the online file, a notarized copy of the marriage certificate must accompany the letter for request of name change. Name change requests cannot be faxed because FCCPT evaluators must examine the notary seal before any changes are made to the file.

If an applicant wants to make changes to the licensure or academic information on the online file, appropriate revisions forms are available for applicants to fill out with the correct changes to be made to the file record. These can be faxed to FCCPT at 703-684-8715. Revision forms are found in applicant file “forms Library".
