Type I Certificate Renewal

Home-> Returning Applicants -> Type I Certificate Renewal

Information on Renewal       Apply Now

When a Type I certificate is issued it does not expire as long as it is used with the USCIS to obtain a visa or work permit. If the USCIS determines that you need a renewed certificate or if the certificate is not used within 5 years, then you would need to apply for the related service of Type I Certificate Renewal.

To renew the certificate the applicant must provide:

  1. Verification of ALL licenses held since graduation (both active and inactive licenses).
    1. Request for Verification of Physical Therapy License (page one to be filled out by applicant, page two to be completed by regulatory authority)
  2. NPTE score transfer if applicant holds a US license
  3. Passing scores on the English Proficiency tests.
    1. TOEFL/TWE and TSE or the IBT-TOEFL examination.

The USCIS does not require a re-evaluation of the educational credentials review completed previously.
